Mariotte Workshop

During 19 days in the summer holidays the theatre group of Esperance, Intwali, learned a new kind of theatre called Marionette from a German professional. The workshop was organized by Rhenanie palatinate Jumellage.
The participants had to write their own plays and create their own puppets. The goal of the workshop was to empower the youth to express common problems in Ruanda and educate the youth through marionette.

“This sort of theatre is different from the one I used to play because now we are using puppets to transmit a message. It would be good if more young people would now how to play marionette because it can be used for changing our society. After this training I am going to use marionette to educate Rwandan youth. “said by Muhire Jean Claude (actor).
